Leslie Science Center

The Leslie Science Center is about a mile from our house and we have never gone!  Today was our day!
We joined up with our friends and loved seeing all the big birds.  All the birds were originally found injured and the science center nursed them back to health but determined they weren't strong enough (or too injured) to live on their own in the wild.

 Turkey Vulture
 Hawk
The Bald Eagle who came to visit us during lunch!
Bald Eagle in her cage.  She is 6 years old and bald eagles are brown before they turn 6, then they get the white head!  Interesting fact, huh?

It was a fun day!  There were trails too, to go to a pond...We roughed the trails with the strollers but never found the pond.  Sad.  One day Amy and I will do some "trail running" so we can find the pond, then take the kiddos back there.  It was an adventure to say the least, the trail was not made for strollers!
