It is coming to an end (provided all goes to as planned)
Amniocentesis on Thursday to determine if Lucy's lungs are developed.
Last IVIG treatment Thursday night at Memorial.
C-section on Friday morning.
Baby Lucy......
I can't wait to meet this little one. She is a stinker already. When I go in for my non stress tests she stops moving. But, I think she does that as a sign as well....She falls asleep and we get to watch her "breath." Her little lungs move up and down and give me confirmation that God has her little body and lungs in His hands...She will be here when she is ready.
Oh Lucy Grace. This pregnancy has been tough. IVIG treatments every week. They take 6-7 hours each...I have been doing them since week 12.....
That is 23 weeks, 161 hours, and about 92 lbs. of liquid being infused into my body. Granted the IVIG is supposed to wear off after about 7 days which means that I have to do it all over again, but still 92 lbs of liquid! Thankfully, my body is doing pretty good with this stuff and I don't get too sick. I have only been really sick three times and those times were rough to say the least...But, some people have morning sickness their entire pregnancy, so dealing with a few days of sickness isn't horrible.
I am also on prednisone...That helps suppress my immune system so that my antibodies don't attack yours. It also has other side effects but those are hopefully temporary. Thankfully the "bad" side effects haven't messed me up that much...My feet swell, I have blotchy skin, and my legs often have a purple hue to them....But, that will pass.
Lucy Grace, you are beautiful in my eyes already. I can't wait to hold you, kiss your face, and tell you I love you. You are our precious girl and I can't wait to show you off to this world. God has big plans for you my girl and I can't wait to be a part of it.
You are an incredible mama, Carey!
