Michigan Beauty at the Arboretum

Thank you Meyers Family!

Abby loves her chair!

Heavy

My heart is heavy.  Praying for sweet Millie.  She is in surgery right now, getting a new liver.  This is something we have been praying for for a long time, and now the time has finally come.  Please pray for Millie....You can read her story here....

Apple Orchard

Yesterday we went to the Apple Orchard!  One of the most wonderful places to go in the fall in Michigan!

The apples help with teething!

Picking raspberries...Steve had the camera, Carey picked the raspberries...

 Abby's first pumpkin patch!

She was more concerned with eating the flowers...

Our dear daughter...

Abby is going through a fun phase where she wakes up a lot during the night.  It isn't every night...but last night, for instance she woke up at 11, 1, 4:30 and 7.  That is a lot and I am ready for her to sleep through the night.  However, every time I go to her she eats a TON...So, I feel like it is just something we have to get through.  Maybe she is having a growth spurt, maybe teeth, who knows?  But, I am ready for it to be over.  Tonight she ate a ton of food right before bed, but then again, she is crying and only went to bed 1.5 hours ago, sheesh!  What am I going to do with her?

But....Sleeping at night is the only thing that is going bad right now.  She wakes up in the morning SO happy!  A few things I am loving about Abby right now:
1. She wakes up standing up in her crib.  I think it is adorable.  Today I found her pacifier on the floor outside her crib though, this could be dangerous soon.
2. When she sits in her high chair, she is so sweet.  She just gobbles up whatever I give her...Today it was squash, avocado, those little yogurt yummies, milk in a sippy cup (I tried this instead of a bottle, trying to fill her up more before bed...apparently it isn't working).
3. She gives the best hugs.  When I get her up in the morning, she nuzzles her head into my neck and gives the sweetest hugs.
4. She kisses me frequently which = I have a slobbery face, but it's OK.
5. She does great in the car and on walks...
6. She started clapping!
7.  When I say, "say mama" she repeats it after me...Same for dada...I don't know if she understands that means me and Steve but she repeats it and that is good.
8. PT is going great, the PT only comes once a month and was super impressed with Abby's growth this last month.

Well, I guess that is it for now.  Abby is a super star baby, I am just hoping the night time sleep increases.  Any suggestions would be appreciated..But, please just give constructive advice...hearing about other children sleeping through the night kind of makes me want to pass out...I have tried giving her formula, feeding her more through the day, rice cereal right before bed, letting her cry it out,  cluster feeding in the evening...The list goes on and on....But, I would love a MAGIC FIX....and am willing to try just about anything.

(and here is my prayer every night...Lord, please give me sleep, let Abby sleep long and hard so she can grow into the smart, strong baby you created her to be.  I am still trusting God to answer it one of these nights).

PS.  Abby isn't crying anymore!  She is still making noise in her room, but no tears..Come on baby, go back to bed!

8 months

How can 8 months go by so fast?  It feels like just yesterday when we were in the hospital with Abby, Steve came home jet lagged, and we spent several days sleeping here and there, until we could finally bring our sweet baby home.

Now, we are home together in Michigan and loving it!  Steve comes home everyday and talks about how much he "misses" Abby while he is gone.  I love it, he is only gone for a few hours if that, and misses her!

A few things about our sweet Abby:
1. She crawls!  Nana and Bubba were in town to see it!
2. She had her first real turd...
3. When you wake up in the morning, you lay in your crib waiting for us to come in.  When we come in and say "good morning Abby" you don't look at us, but get a huge smile on your face when we talk...Then you turn ready for us to pick you up, it is so sweet!
4. You still wake up every 4.5-5 hours to sleep. We have had a few rough nights (ear infection) and are getting back into a normal routine.  We are ready for you to sleep through the night and are very jealous of other babies that do.  However, you wake up, eat and go back to bed, so I can't really complain all that much.
5. You went to Chicago to celebrate with Andy and Brittany!
6. You stood up all by yourself in your crib after nap!  It was crazy!
7. You give us hugs.  You bury your head in our neck and put your arms around us as best as you can.  You give kisses by slobbering all over our faces.  We love it!
8. You love baths and would sit in the tub for hours if I would let you.

On North Campus watching the hot air balloon

Just crawling around...You love it when we put the cushions on the floor for you to climb on.

Bath time!

Happy as can be hanging out with Daddy, playing with toys.

Danger.....

Started crawling and...went right for the outlets....Glad we have covers on them!
