I am home, it is 7:58....Tonight was by far the BEST IVIG I have had yet!
It started out like this...
I called at 3:30 to check if they were ready for me... A Dr. answered the phone and said, "Oh Yeah, the IVIG, they are talking about you right now, we are ready for you!"
I arrive at 3:58. Fill out paperwork. Have time to sit in a chair put my bag down and they call me back.
The IV was in by 4:07, IVIG was running by 4:12. This is RECORD time! Glenette was my nurse, and she was perfect! When I came into the room she had the IVIG on the pole, already prepped for my arm.
I had two midwives come in and introduce themselves to me, both named Jennifer (one was Jen). They wanted to come say hi because they always prep my IVIG and wanted to meet the person who came every week. They were so sweet.
I got to talk to my mom for 40 minutes on the phone, she is working a lot right now so we haven't had a chance to catch up. It was great to chat with her.
I took a short nap and then heard a knock at the door. Paul, Midge, Steve and Abby came to visit me! What a fun treat! We had dinner together and then got to walk Abby around to trick or treat at the nurses stations.
She was a hit in her giraffe costume (she even met another giraffe who was 4 months old!) They gave her candy and she even got to visit a lady in labor, the nurse stole her for a minute to go give a lady a little smile (smiles don't come often when you are in labor...)
I did forget Abby's pumpkin bucket, which I was super bummed about, but we will get lots of pictures tomorrow...
Overall, it was the perfect night. The midwife even brought dinner for Abby: lasagna, broccoli, a roll and even some chocolate ice cream! I couldn't have asked for a better IVIG night.
And....I was walking out of there in 3 hours and 24 minutes....BAZINGA!
(A special thanks to Steve, Midge, Paul and Abby for making a boring night super fun!)
This made me smile! I'm glad you had such a good experience yesterday!
