Up North

Week one of our vacation to Michigan was spent in Traverse City....Oh man.  That place is heave on earth.

Our aunties are the best.

My parents made a sandbox this year and it was one of the highlights of the trip!

It was so hot that week.  We were in the lake every single day....and when we weren't in the lake we were in the little pool...in our clothes!

Abby's a little critter catcher...Her favorite part of the day was going to catch crayfish with Bubba.

 She was able to pull the trap up all by herself!

 Steve and I got to go fishing with bubba...This is one of my absolute favorite things to do.  My dad and Steve were in his car towing the boat and I was following in our car (we did that so we could make it back to the house to relieve my mom of kid duty a little faster...She is so awesome in taking care of the kids when my dad takes everyone fishing.)

Following the boat was so exciting.  I can't really describe what I feel when I am ready to get in my dad's boat.  I LOVE it.  

And, of course, with Captain Jim Big Fish...You always catch fish!

Being up north was a great way to start our vacation to Michigan!
